About Us

Deaton Yacht Service was founded in 1979,  and is managed by John Deaton and his wife Karen.  Truely a family business, John's brother Bob and his father Ralph were also part of the boatyard and now several of John and Karen's son's are involved too. 

Located just off the ICW in Oriental, NC, Deaton's serves both the local boating community and those who are 'just passing through' on the Waterway.  The yard is located in a well-protected creek, within easy walking distance of grocery, chandlery, hardware store, coffee shop and many wonderful restaurants. 

Our professional staff include experts in engine work, fiberglass, mechanical repair, electroninics and bottom work.  Our parts department offers a useful selection of parts and we are always available to help you find exactly what you need. 

Our Office and parts department are open from 8-5 M-F and 8-12 on Saturday.

Free wifi is available throughout the yard. 

Local or a transient, we aim to make your visit to our yard a pleasant one.
